An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join our client, one of the UK’s leading employers.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager’s remit will encapsulate a number of busy departments such as production, transport and engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment, whilst providing excellent customer service to maximise profit and loyalty.
Additionally, you will actively develop the business to increase turnover and improve our client’s use of resources, ensuring agreed budgets are adhered to, and driving the performance of every member of the team.
The business operates on a 16 hours a day basis, across 7 days a week and the successful applicant would be expected to display flexibility to ensure their presence across this period.
To be considered for this position, you must have proven management experience, gained within a fast moving manufacturing or industrial environment. In this role, your remit will extend across all aspects of recruitment, retention and training, as well as the preparation of detailed business plans, therefore you will need to be a natural leader with innate commercial acumen.
As an Operations Manager you will bring a hands-on approach, plenty of focus and drive, and deep commitment to exceeding customer expectations and transforming the bottom line. Equally as important to your success are your excellent communication skills, your great problem solving skills, and your ability to deal with under-performance. Leadership by example is key.
Although not essential, possessing a NEBOSH qualification would be an advantage to your application.
